A Weekend of Thrills and Big Catches

This past weekend was a fishing dream come true! Saturday delivered perfect conditions: hot sun and calm seas. Thirty-plus miles offshore, we hit the tide line and were into fish immediately. A mahi-mahi struck almost on contact, soon joined by a wahoo. The hot bite yielded an amazing 31 mahi and 1 wahoo by the end of the day. What a thrill!

Sunday’s Adventure

Sunday offered a change of pace. A southerly breeze created a gentle roll under cloudy skies, eventually bringing rain. Though we missed the tide line, the electric blue water was beautiful. The pace was steadier, but that didn’t stop us from landing a wahoo. Then came the heart-stopping thrill of a marlin strike! It exploded out of the water twice in powerful jumps before throwing the hook. We finished the day with 6 fish: a wahoo, skipjack tuna, and four mahi-mahi.
