Wahoo arrive

Weather Update

The weather fronts that have been bringing all the rain and wind have finally receded. Last weekend saw light winds and slight seas, making it quite pleasant to be out at sea, though it was quite hot.

Fishing Report

The waters have taken a few days to clear, and they have revealed that the Wahoo have arrived, somewhat earlier than expected. We found a small school on a tide line and managed to land two. Also around were large numbers of Tunas with Kawa Kawa being ever-present, and among them, Yellowfin were be found. Later during the day a Sailfish came through the spread looked at all the lures before moving off. Later after all lines were in, the sailfish returned for one last look before we headed for home.

This year, we've introduced a new tactic: the use of a 36” collapsible dredge. It has taken some training to deploy, but once out, it definitely brings the fish up.

Group Day Fishing

We have several group fishing days coming up with available spots. If you wish to join, please contact us as soon as possible to ensure a place. The available dates are:

  • Saturday, 13th

  • Monday, 15th

  • Friday, 19th

Boat Update

Unfortunately, we recently encountered some issues with contaminated fuel, which required spare parts to be flown in. Given the weather, it would have been difficult for us to go out anyway. This issue has now been resolved, and the boat is fully operational.

Bookings

Weekends are always a busy time. July weekends are now fully booked except for the 27th, which is still available. August is starting to fill up, so we strongly recommend making an early confirmation.

Please remember that confirmation of a provisional date will only be given after the deposit is paid. Provisional bookings will be released to others if deposits are not paid.
